Bonifacio Day—30 November 2023

Nakikiisa ang UPD-OICA sa pagdiriwang ng ika-160 anibersaryo ng kapanganakan ni Andres Bonifacio na may temang “Bonifacio 2023: Katungkulan at Pananagutan Tungo sa Kaunlaran ng Bayan”. Tinaguriang Ama ng Rebolusyong Pilipino, si Bonifacio ay kinikilala dahil sa taglay niyang katapangan at dedikasyon sa pagtaguyod ng kalayaan para sa ating bayan.

Mabuhay ang ating mga kababayan na patuloy na kumakawala mula sa tanikala ng pang-aapi! Nawa’y patuloy na umalab ang espiritu ng rebolusyon sa ating mga puso tungo sa kolektibong paghahangad ng kalayaan at katarungan.

EXTENDED—Call for Proposals for UPD Arts & Culture Festival 2024

The deadline for submitting proposals for DACF 2024 is EXTENDED until 7 NOVEMBER 2023 (Tuesday).

UP Diliman Units, Offices, and recognized student organizations are invited to submit proposals for projects/events that align with the theme “Pamamalagi at Pamamahagi” of the UPD Arts and Culture Festival (DACF) 2024.

Indigenous Peoples Month — October 2023

October is Indigenous Peoples Month. Learn about the rights of indigenous peoples and indigenous cultural communities in the Philippines as enacted in the Indigenous Peoples’ Rights Act of 1997 (IPRA).


What is IPRA?

Enacted on October 29, 1997, the Republic Act No. 8371 or the “Indegenous Peoples Rights Act of 1997” (IPRA) is an “act to recognize, protect, and promote the rights of indigenous cultural communities/indigenous peoples (ICCs/IPs), creating a national commission on indigenous peoples, establishing implementing mechanisms, appropriating funds thereof, and for other purposes.

Indigenous Peoples Month

By virtue of Proclamation no. 1906, s. 2009, the Indigenous Peoples (IP) month is celebrated every month of October.

National Indigenous Peoples (IP) Day

By virtue of Republic Act no. 10689, August 9 is declared as “National IP Day”, which coincides with the “International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples observed on the same day.
