The auditoriums, cinemas, and theaters in the University are used for concerts, theatrical plays, film screenings, conferences, seminars, and other events. These are venues where students, organizations, and academic units innovate, collaborate, and engage the public with explorative and socially relevant activities and programs.

Ignacio B. Gimenez – KAL (IBG-KAL) Theater
UP College of Arts and Letters (CAL)
As a way of giving back, Ignacio B. Gimenez donated to the College of Arts and Letters to establish the Ignacio B. Gimenez-Kolehiyo ng Arte at Literatura Theater or the IGB-KAL Theater. Gimenez was an alumnus of the UP Dramatics Club and UP Mobile Theater, managed by the National Artists for Theater Wilfrido Ma. Guerrero in the 1960s.

Wilfrido Ma. Guerrero Theater
UP College of Arts and Letters (CAL)
The Wilfrido Ma. Guerrero Theater is a 288-seating theater named after the National Artist for Theater Wilfrido Ma. Guerrero. Guerrero was also a professor in the Department of English and founder of the UP Dramatic Club and UP Mobile Theater. The theater, formerly called the Liberal Arts Lecture Hall or Arts and Lecture Hall, became the Wilfrido Ma. Guerrero Theater after UP President Onofre D. Corpuz funded its renovation in 1976.

Tanghalang Teatro Hermogenes Ylagan / Blackbox theater
UP College of Arts and Letters (CAL)
The Tanghalang Hermogenes Ylagan, or Black box Theater is used for staging productions, workshops, and rehearsals, usually of the students of the Department of Speech Communication and Theater Arts. It can accommodate 60-80 people, depending on the set-up of the stage and audience area. Now located at the third pavilion of the Palma Hall, the theater was once part of the Faculty Center.

GT-Toyota Asian Center Auditorium
UP Asian Center
The GT-Toyota Asian Center auditorium has a stage, a 350-seating hall, dressing rooms, a pantry, and bathrooms. It is open for corporate and academic events, like conferences. The auditorium was named after the chairman of Toyota Motors Philippines, Dr. George S.K. Ty as the donor of the funding for the construction.

UPSE Auditorium
UP School of Economics (UPSE)
The Auditorium of the UP School of Economics is located on the ground floor of the Library Building. It was built with a grant from the Japanese government and opened its doors to the public in 1978. This 350.95 sq.m. facility is fully airconditioned and has a seating capacity of 280 persons. It has audio-visual equipment and modern acoustics for staging hybrid seminars, forums, and lectures. The auditorium has been the venue of prominent events, including theatrical performances and live music. It was renovated in the 2000s.

The David M. Consunji Theater is a 256-seat theater used for seminars, conferences, concerts, competitions, and assemblies. It was named after an alumnus of the Institute of Civil Engineering, late Engr. David M. Consunji, the founder of the DMCI Group of companies and known as the “Grandfather of Philippine Construction Industry.”

Beta Epsilon Multimedia Hall
UP College of Engineering
The Beta Epsilon Multimedia Hall is an air-conditioned room with a projector, sound system, whiteboard, tables, and chairs in a tiered-platform set-up. It is a venue for seminars and conferences. It was built in 1992 by the Beta Epsilon Fraternity to be the college’s first multimedia room and was later renovated in 2005.

UP Department of Mining, Metallurgical, and Materials Engineering (DMMME)
The Department of Mining, Metallurgical, and Materials Engineering (DMMME) auditorium is a hall with a stage, projector, soundboard, speakers, carpeted floors, backstage, and air-conditioning. It has a tiered seating plan that can hold 93 people. Events held at the auditorium are seminars, talks, and assemblies. It is open to the public.

The Cine Adarna is a 745-seat cinema that regularly screens local and international films to advocate film literacy and appreciation to the public. The cinema is also where the Film Institute holds workshops, seminars, exhibits, etc. It is also a venue for film programs, graduations, conferences, stage plays, and concerts.

The Aldaba Recital Hall is an air-conditioned 211-seat hall for recitals, performances, and lectures. The hall was named after Dalisay J. Aldaba, a renowned soprano and the founder of the Opera Guild of the Philippines. The recital hall is located within the Villamor Hall.

Benito Sy Pow Auditorium
UP College of Architecture
The Benito Sy Pow Auditorium is a two-level 500-seating auditorium donated by the New Golden City Builders president Manny Sy in honor of his father. It features a stage and an amphitheater seating with a balcony. An artificial pond outside the building partially cools the auditorium stage, an economical feature to save electricity when needed. The balcony may also be turned into rooms for academic purposes.

It is equipped with air conditioning, a sound booth, and a projector. The AVR is a venue for thesis defense, proposal presentations, seminars, and the institute’s commencement exercises.

UP Integrated School (UPIS)
The UPIS Auditorium has a stage, backstage, audio booth, speakers, air-conditioning, and elevated seats. It can accommodate approximately 600 people. The auditorium has been a venue for school programs, recognition rites, concerts, and events initiated within and outside UPIS. The Mama Sita’s Foundation sponsored the establishment of the auditorium. It is located on the third and fourth floors of the UPIS building. It is currently under renovation.
