ABSTRACT
In recent years, the existential challenges brought about by climate change and the expansion of the use of technology in our everyday life have intensified, compelling us to think about what the future might be for the diverse members of our community, our sense of humanity, and invites the UP Diliman community to imagine happy, peaceful, safe, and just futures through reflexive and critical engagement with our epistemic and moral moorings, and the realization that caring for the world and all its inhabitants is a responsibility and legacy shared by all.
Itong nakaraang mga taon, patuloy ang pag-igting ng epekto ng pagbabago ng klima at paglaganap ng paggamit ng teknolohiya sa ating pang-araw-araw na pamumuhay. Hinihimok tayo ng mga hamong ito na pag-isipan ang kinabukasan ng iba’t ibang miyembro ng ating komunidad, ng ating pagkatao, at ng ating pag-unawa sa ekolohiya. Gamit ang temang Atin ang Kinabukasan para sa UP Diliman Arts and Culture Festival 2027, inaanyayahan ang buong komunidad ng UP Diliman na harayain ang mga kinabukasang masaya, payapa, ligtas, at makatarungan para sa lahat na naka-ugat sa malalim na pagsusuri sa mga nakagawiang kaalaman at asal, at sa pananaw na lahat tayo ay may pananagutan sa kahihinatnan ng ating kapwa at ng mundong mamanahin ng mga susunod na henerasyon.
The UP Diliman Arts and Culture Festival (UPD ACF) 2027 takes on the existential challenges brought about by climate change and the expansion of the use of technology in our everyday life by imagining what the future might look like for the different members of our community, our sense of humanity, and our understanding of ecology. With the theme Atin ang Kinabukasan, the Festival takes stock of how innovations in material and non-material forms have reconfigured human capabilities and, in turn, our sense of accountability, and shaped the world we are bequeathing to future generations.
Guided by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, the Festival urges the UP Diliman community to forge paths towards happy, peaceful, safe, and just futures for all members of our community by “enhancing capacities for participatory, integrated, and sustainable human settlement planning and management” as well as “safeguarding cultural and natural heritage” within and outside the University.
Members of the UP Diliman community are invited to participate in the Festival through activities, projects, and events that demonstrate in artistic, imaginative, or unconventional ways, how reflexive and critical engagement with our epistemic and moral moorings can lead to futures where caring for the world and all its inhabitants is a responsibility and legacy shared by all.
Call for Project Proposals
WHO CAN SUBMIT PROJECT PROPOSALS?
UP Diliman units, offices, and recognized student organizations, whose projects align with the Festival theme.
Proponents are encouraged to find supplementary funding sources for projects that exceed P150,000.00, while project proposals with external funding that align with the theme of UPD ACF 2027 can be submitted for inclusion in the omnibus program and calendar of activities.
As much as possible, activities shall be free and open to the UP Diliman community.
