UP Diliman Visual Arts and Cultural Studies Scholarship Program (UPD VACSSP)
The UP Diliman Visual Arts and Cultural Studies Scholarship Program (UPD VACSSP) is a scholarship in the form of a tuition waiver (and other fees) or a stipend awarded by the UP Diliman Chancellor through OICA to deserving UP Diliman undergraduate students in the visual arts and in programs related to arts and cultural criticism. It is renewable every academic year.
The program was instituted in 2016, upon approval of the UP Board of Regents, in their 1323rd meeting held on December 16, 2016.
Ang UP Diliman Visual Arts and Cultural Studies Scholarship Program (UPD VACSSP) ay iskolarsyip sa anyo ng tuition waiver (at iba pang bayarin) o stipend na ibinibigay ng Tsanselor ng UP Diliman sa pamamagitan ng OICA sa mga karapat-dapat na mag-aaral na di-gradwado ng UP Diliman sa sining biswal at sa mga programang kaugnay ng mga sining at kritisismong pangkultura. Mare-renew ito bawat akademikong taon.
Itinatag ang programang ito noong 2016, matapos maaprubahan ng UP Lupon ng mga Rehente sa kanilang ika-1323 na pulong na ginanap noong Disyembre 16, 2016.

- Tuition Waiver or Stipend
Tuition Waiver – This is a tuition and other school fees (OSF) waiver and is availed by VACSSP recipients who are not covered by R.A. 10931 Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act or the no tuition policy, or any other tuition waiving grants.
Stipend – This is a semestral allowance of PhP 10,000.00 availed by VACSSP recipients who are covered by R.A. 10931 Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act or the no tuition policy, or those who enjoy other tuition waiving grants.
Important: A PASP scholar is allowed to choose only one (1) between tuition waiver and stipend per semester.

Tuition Waiver – May waiver sa tuition at other school fees (OSF) at maaaring matamasa ng iskolar ng VACSSP na hindi saklaw ng R.A. 10931 Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act o ng no tuition policy o anumang iba pang tuition waiving na gawad.
Stipend – Isa itong semestral na allowance na PHP10,000.00 na matatamasa ng tumanggap ng VACSSP na saklaw ng R.A. 10931 Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act o ng no tuition policy, o ng tumatamasa na ng ibang tuition waiving na gawad.
Mahalagang paalala: Makapipili ang PASP iskolar ng isa (1) lamang sa alinman sa tuition waiver o stipend kada semestre
- Undergraduate students under any academic program related to the study/practice of visual arts, the arts and cultural criticism. These programs include, but are not limited to, art studies, comparative literature, language studies or linguistics, creative writing, film studies, theater studies, anthropology, communications and media studies, Philippine cultural studies, and history.
- Students who have the potential to be an exemplary artist or scholar as attested to by current or former instructors, a community-based artist, an art scholar, a cultural studies scholar, or an established artist.
- The applicant must have been enrolled in at least the minimum number of academic units considered as a regular load for each of the semesters of the previous academic year.
- (for new applicants) The student must have a GWA of 1.75 or higher for each of the semesters of the previous academic year.
- The applicant must not have a grade of 5.00, unremoved 4.00 or INC in the semesters being considered.
- Mga mag-aaral na di-gradwado sa ilalim ng anumang programang akademiko kaugnay ng sining biswal, at mga kritisismong pansining at pangkultura. Ang mga programa ay kinabibilangan, ngunit hindi limitado sa araling pansining, komparatibong panitikan, araling pangwika o lingguwistika, malikhaing pagsulat, araling pampelikula, araling panteatro, antropolohiya, komunikasyon at araling pang-media, araling pangkultura ng Pilipinas, at kasaysayan.
- Ang mga mag-aaral na may potensiyal na maging natatanging artist o iskolar (sa pagpapatunay ng kasalukuyan o dating guro), artist mula sa komunidad, iskolar sa sining, iskolar sa araling pangkultura, o kilalang artist.
- Ang aplikante ay kailangang nakaenrol sa hindi bababa sa minimum na bilang ng akademikong yunit na itinuturing bilang regular na load para sa bawat semestre ng nagdaang akademikong taon.
- (para sa mga bagong aplikante) Ang mag-aaral ay kailangang may GWA na 1.75 o mas mataas pa, sa bawat semestre ng nagdaang akademikong taon.
- Ang aplikante ay dapat walang gradong 5.00, di dumaan sa removal na 4.00 o INC sa mga semestreng tinutukoy.

- Cover letter addressed to the UP Diliman Chancellor through the Director of the UPD-OICA
- True Copy of Grades (TCG) from the preceding semesters certified by the College Secretary of the unit where the applicant is enrolled
- (for new applicants) Two (2) recommendations from a faculty, artist, cultural worker or arts and humanities scholar. One of the recommendations must be accomplished by a faculty member from the student’s program. - Lahat ng mga kahingian at dapat maisumite bago o sa huling araw ng aplikasyon. Ang mga aplikasyon na hindi kumpleto ang mga kahingian ay hindi tatanggapin.
- The UP Diliman Chancellor through the OICA Director shall constitute a steering committee to evaluate the applications for the scholarship.
- The steering committee shall submit a list of recommended scholars to the OICA Advisory Board.
- The OICA Advisory Board shall evaluate the recommended scholars of the steering committee for endorsement of a final list to the UP Diliman Chancellor for approval.
- After the approval of the UP Diliman Chancellor, all applicants will be notified of the status of their application through email.
- Ang Tsanselor ng UP Diliman sa pamamagitan ng Direktor ng OICA ay bubuo ng lupon ng mga tagasuri para salain ang mga aplikasyon para sa iskolarsyip.
- Ang steering committee ay magsusumite ng listahan ng mga inirerekomendang iskolar sa OICA Lupon ng mga Tagapayo.
- Susuriin ng OICA Lupon ng mga Tagapayo ang mga inirekomendang iskolar ng lupon ng mga tagasuri at mag-e-endorso ng listahan para sa pag-apruba ng Tsanselor ng UPD.
- Matapos ang pag-apruba ng UP Diliman Tsanselor, ipapaalám sa lahat ng aplikante ang kalagayan ng kanilang aplikasyon sa pamamagitan ng email.
Those who qualified for the VACSSP scholarship shall receive instructions by e-mail on how to receive their benefits.
TUITION WAIVER
Scholars who choose to receive a tuition waiver must submit the following requirements via email to vacssp_oica.upd@up.edu.ph on or before the designated deadline:

- A copy of their Form 5A before assessment
The Office of the University Registrar (OUR) will be provided a list of VACSSP scholars for tagging for special assessment. The scholar will also receive a copy of the certification of scholarship.
STIPEND
Scholars who chose to receive a stipend must submit the following requirements to OICA via email vacssp_oica.upd@up.edu.ph on or before the designated deadline:
- Copy of Form 5
- Clear photo of Landbank ATM card
Note: All scholars are required to open a Landbank account (online or on-site) to receive their stipend.
After submission of the above requirements, OICA will proceed with the processing of their stipend. The scholars will be notified via email once the payment has been deposited to their respective Landbank accounts.
Ang mga kuwalipikado sa VACSSP ay bibigyan ng panuto hinggil sa pagtanggap ng kanilang benepisyo.
TUITION WAIVER
Ang mga kuwalipikadong iskolar na pinili ang tuition waiver ay kinakailangang magsumite ng mga kahingian sa pamamagitan ng pag-email sa vacssp_oica.upd@up.edu.ph sa o bago ang itinakdang deadline:

Bibigyan ang Opisina ng Rehistrador ng Unibersidad (OUR) ng listahan ng iskolar ng VACSSP iskolar para sa special assessment. Makakatanggap rin ng kopya ng sertipikasyon ang iskolar.
STIPEND
Ang mga iskolar na pinili ang stipend ay kinakailangang magsumite ng mga sumusunod na kahingian gamit ang email sa vacssp_oica.upd@up.edu.ph sa o bago ang itinakdang deadline:
- Kopya ng Form 5
- Malinaw na letrato ng Landbank ATM card
Tala: Kailangang magbukas magkaroon ng Landbank account ang mga iskolar para matanggap ang kanilang stipend.
Pag naisumite na ang mga nabanggit na kahingian, ipoproseso ng OICA ang stipend ng iskolar. Ipababatid sa mga iskolar sa pamamagitan ng email kapag naideposito na sa kanilang Landbank account ang kanilang stipend.
- The scholarship is renewable every academic year.
- To renew the scholarship, the scholar must comply with the following requirements:
- A GWA of 1.75 or higher for each of the semesters of the previous academic year; and
- Submission of a progress report as a student in visual arts, the arts, or cultural studies
- A scholar who fails to be renewed may apply again as a new scholar in the succeeding academic year.
- Scholars may not renew their scholarship if they received a grade of 5.0 or 4.0 during the period of their scholarship.
- Maaaring ma-renew ang iskolarsyip kada taon.
- Para makapag-renew, kailangang ang iskolar ay:
- May GWA na 1.75 o mas mataas para sa bawat semestre ng nagdaang akademikong taon; at
- Mag-sumite ng ulat ng nagawa bilang mag-aaral ng sining biswal, sining, o araling pangkultura
- Ang iskolar na hindi na-renew ay maaaring mag-sumite ng aplikasyon bilang bagong iskolar sa susunod na akademikong taon.
- Hindi maaaring magpa-renew ang isang iskolar kung siya ay nagtamo ng gradong 5.0 habang siya ay iskolar.
