Formal Unveiling and Turn-over of Fyodor Dostoyevsky’s Bust Sculpture

A simple ceremony was held on March 12, 6 p.m. at the Bulwagan ng Dangal (BnD) for the unveiling and turn-over of the bust sculpture of Fyodor Dostoyevsky made by Russian sculptor Gregory Pototsky.

Dostoyevsky was a Russian novelist whose works explore the human psychology of 19th century Russian society.  His memorable works include “The Brothers Karamazov,” “Crime and Punishment” and “The Idiot.” Pototksy’s bust sculpture of Dostoyevsky is made of bronze and has a dimension of 47.5×25.5×29 cm.

Gregory Pototsky is an internationally-renowned artist and member of leading international organizations as International Union of Artists at UNESCO, the International Academy of Informatisation and member-correspondent of the Pedagogical Academy, among others. He has donated at least eight of his works to various institutions in the Philippines.

The ceremony was graced by Russian Federation Ambassador to the Philippines, H.E. Nikolay Kudashev, Mexican Ambassador to the Philippines H.E. Tomas Javier Calvillo Unna, UP President Alfredo E. Pascual, UPD Chancellor Caesar A. Saloma and by UP System and Diliman officials.
