Episode 2: Paano masisiguro ang kapakanan ng mga artista sa panahon ng krisis?

June 5, 2020 – 3 p.m.

It is only apt for institutions to consider the welfare/well-being of artists and cultural workers during this time of need.

Hosted by the Office for Initiatives in Culture and the Arts, the second installment of the UP Diliman Kanlungan Talk Series examined the situation of theater artists and students in the Philippines.

“What is the Philippines’ culture of nurturing or caring for artists? How are the ideas of “care” and “well-being” perceived in the local context? How are artists and cultural workers treated? How can artists safeguard their personal well-being during and beyond the current crisis?”

Present in this timely conversation were Nanding Josef (Artistic Director, Tanghalang Pilipino), Jennifer Lee Bonto (Executive Director, Artists Welfare Project Inc.), Rose Panuelos, and Issa Manalo Lopez (UP Theatre Arts instructor and student). The talk was held via UP Diliman OICA’s Facebook page last June 5, 2020 (Friday) from 3:00p.m. until 4:30 p.m.
