October 17, 2014 — the UP Board of Regents officially confirmed Dr. Michael Lim Tan as Chancellor of the University of the Philippines Diliman.
Having started his three-year term earlier the same year, Anthropology professor and highly esteemed faculty member Dr Tan, was appointed Chancellor by the BOR 8 months prior. Present in the inauguration are Dr. Patricia B. Licuanan, Chairperson of the UP Board of Regents, and UP President Alfredo E. Pascual. The ceremony’s highlight was Dr. Tan’s speech on “Building Bridges, Creating Networks.”
In the program were performances by UP Tugtugang Musika Asyatika, UP Dance Company, UP Singing Ambassadors, UP Varsity Pep Squad, and UP Filipiniana Dance Group.
