As part of the 2021 Pag-iilaw ceremony held last Dec. 3 at Quezon Hall, UP officials and esteemed faculty members observed a moment of silence to honor those who had lost their lives in the pandemic.
The university’s annual lighting ritual was streamed live on the university’s YouTube account and Facebook page concurrently. The broadcast began with a pre-program film about the art work “Sambabaylaan” by College of Fine Arts faculty member Abdulmari Toym de Leon Imao Jr., as well as life updates from various UPD employees.
A bridge for life and hope in a time of pandemic, this year’s Pag-iilaw concluded with the theme “Ugnayan at Pagpupugay: Tulay ng Buhay at Pagasa.”
